Líkt og hljóðuppsetningin „Les Archives du Coeur / Archive of Hearts“ eftir Christian Boltanski, með hjálp skipuleggjenda verða skrárnar varðveittar á stað sem ver þær fyrir hörmungum eða hugsanlegum „heimsendi“. Skrárnar verða einnig aðgengilegar á heimasíðu Sláturhússins.

Stefan Kornacki / Audio-video installation
Stock for future: Emotions.
The audio-video installation will be made as part of a residency in the space of Sláturhúsið Cultural Centre / Egilsstaðir / Iceland.
"The problem of our age is not the atomic bomb, but the human heart."
Albert Einstein
INSPIRATION
Humans have always been fascinated by issues concerning the end of the world. Conspiracy theories are mixed with real threats, in fact, these phenomena have intensified in modern times thanks to the accessibility of information. Humanity has been preparing for this event for centuries by creating various ways of ensuring potential survival.
The purpose of the residency:
Working in the tone of a contemporary catastrophic narrative, the artist will create the eponymous STOCK FOR FUTURE - a database of the inhabitants of Egilsstaðir and surroundings, recorded in audio and video form. The theme of the project will be emotion.
The preparer of the event will conduct a series of interviews (in English and with the help of a translator) concerning key moments in the lives and daily activities of his interlocutors. These will include intimate interviews, street polls - various forms of reaching the interviewees in search of emotions. Only the most important and emotional moments will be selected from the audio and video material obtained. After the installation is completed, the eponymous Stock will be created. The audio and video material will be archived on the most durable medium available. Similarly to the audio installation ‘Les Archives du Coeur / Archive of Hearts’ by Christian Boltanski, with the help of the organisers the documentation will be stored in a place where it can survive cataclysms or a potential ‘end of the world’. Stock will be available on the Sláturhúsið Cultural Centre website as well.

Mammoth Ulthana is a music duo of Jacek Doroszenko and Rafał Kołacki based on a combination of traditional acoustic instruments, field recordings and various electronics. This blend creates a sort of unique and intense musical space build on a strong basis and filled with many unforeseen sound events. The band's sound style is based on a hypothetical tribe called the Mammoth Ulthana who roamed the north in a previous era when life was a struggle for survival. It was a community made up of shamans and paladins of Nature, where everyone gained the knowledge and power to maintain inner balance by entering the spiritual world of sound. The Mammoth Ulthana were mediators in their culture, communicating with the spirits on behalf of the community to ease anxieties, resolve outstanding issues, and provide gifts. The musicians have attempted to bring the tribe back to modern times, using the language of electroacoustic music and combining sounds created through modern technology. By releasing traumatic experiences that affect the spirit, they restore balance and bring the body and mind of the individual to wholeness. They invoke the supernatural realm to find solutions to problems plaguing the community. During the concert in Iceland the musicians will present a slightly different, more electronica-oriented set of compositions and video visuals by Jacek Doroszenko
